Is archiving Twitter a stupid activity?!

Twitter signed a deal with the Library of Congress to let them archiving all the public tweets since 2006. Google would also index soon the Twitter flow (50 millions a day!).

A library is not “just books”, but is this the role of a library to archive online content?
