Collaboration tools and usability

with one comment

About Google Docs and other collaborative services.

the use of collaboration tools does not in itself guarantee collaboration. Assuming that specific outcomes are desired and that the participants have clear ideas of the goals and the end results, online tools can be deployed to allow for collaborative projects. One problem, however, is that the available online tools vary extensively in their features and usability

the process of entering into and managing collaborative interactions can be unexpectedly intricate and complicated in the absence of a strong foundational understanding of its nature as a value-adding interactive endeavor. Effective collaboration, we have argued, requires participants to carefully consider roles, responsibilities, processes and outcomes, as well as the personal attributes of fellow collaborators

  1. Online collaboration services SpiveyWorks Notes to help increase productivity of business teams by staying on the same page.
